BLOOM community center – A community center focused on supporting families in their parenting journey. This space serves as our home base for offering child birth education classes, pregnancy discussion groups and postpartum support groups.
Athens Mothers’ Center – A community center offering discussion and activity groups, parenting education, social events, and information about community resources.
La Leche League of Greater Athens – An international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
ARROW is a not-for-profit community space for families that offer classes and workshops for children and parents that are rooted in the belief that young children learn through play and exploring the creative arts.
ICAN of Athens – Local chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesarean through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC). Two Bee Birth Services is a member of ICAN of Athens.
Athens Conscious Parents – A collective of parents providing support and sharing experience with others. We come from a variety of parenting philosophies, but all of us share the desire to parent peacefully and consciously- reflecting on what is best for our families, our children, and our planet.
Athens Massage Therapy – Courtney DiCarlo, CMT, LMT is a nationally certified and state licensed massage therapist who offers pregnancy, labor, and postpartum massage. She completed her doula certification as means to enhance her knowledge and best support her massage clients. Each massage is tailored to meet your individual needs at various stages throughout motherhood, and is designed to aid in relieving pregnancy labor and postpartum related discomforts. Massage supports pregnancy by stimulating the hormones that protect and support gestation. Additionally, Pre- and post-natal massage offers a sense of well-being and peace for mom and baby.
Balance Pilates – Pilates is a great exercise for pregnant women! Traditional Pilates exercises can be modified in various ways for pregnant women. B a l a n c e owner Amanda Martin specializes in Prenatal and Postpartum Pilates, providing instruction that teaches you to relax, engage and be aware of what your body needs at each stage. You wouldn’t run a marathon without training, would you? Treat your upcoming birth the same way, and your body will be the better for it.
Prenatal or Postpartum Yoga with Cundy Bryson – Adding yoga to your routine is a great way to connect with your breath, your baby and your sense of well-being — no matter the age, stage, or fitness level. Every day is an invitation to begin or continue a yoga practice! Cundy holds a Master of Arts Degree, from Naropa University, in Movement Therapy and has worked with women and various movement modalities for 15 years and has recently expanded her interests to the fertile field of Birth. Clarity Counseling – Minou Rysiew (Mee-noo Rish-oo) is a licensed clinical social worker and experienced in dealing with pre-birth anxiety or symptoms of postpartum depression. Please know that you are not alone and help is available. Treatment for depression after birth often includes medication, professional counseling, or a combination of both. There are several types of antidepressant medications that may be given to breastfeeding mothers. Together we can decide if individual, couples and/or family therapy would be the most helpful for you
